Unang Agos

“Unang Agos” was an exhibition featuring artists Zeus Bascon, Sergio Bumatay III and Mica Cabildo.

Bascon, Bumatay, Cabildo, different as their artistic tendencies are, were all inspired by the materials that burdened them as their work progressed. Making use of found objects, religious adornments, glass, rope, wood, and light, each of the artists struggled with the historical weight and internal meanings of their varied media. Seen together, the final artworks create an exhibit that questions the meaning of each of the artists’ personal identities. “Unang Agos” is an exploration of OPF’s enduring vision of constantly seeing things with a new perspective, of expressing passion for the nation through creative expression that eludes any labels traditionally attributed to art.

Opening Reception was on May 27 2014, Tuesday, 6PM at the Pasilyo Vicente Manansala (2/F hallway gallery), Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).

Artist Talk was on June 5, Thursday,2-4PM, MKP Hall, 4th floor CCP Main Theater Building.
