Benguet Artist Summit

For its 2010 Artist Summit, OPF carried on its artist residency program focusing on the artistic background of the Province of Benguet through talks with local artists and tours of the local artistic spaces.

A selection committee consisting of national artist Ben Cab, artist-curator Ringo Bunoan and Baguio-based contemporary artist Kawayan De Guia chose 6 Artists who had as their 10-day artistic mission to celebrate the pure concordance of festivity and regional solidarity: The Grand Canao coinciding the 110th Benguet Foundation Day.

Hon. Ronald Cosalan and the Province of Benguet carried on the enduring mission of the OPF artist summits, promoting and supporting artistic awareness to all regions of the country. Art making processes were exchanged as well with 6 interns from the UP Baguio Fine Arts department, Tam-Awan Village, Ben Cab Museum, Arko ni Apo and Vocas.

The OPF Benguet Artist Summit was held on November 19-28 2010 and emerges as a young but sought after program that would benefit any artist’s profession. Works were launched and exhibited on November 28, 2010 at the Benguet Capitol. This project was also supported by the Philippine Transmarine Carriers and Victory Liner.
